ADVANCED TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT

BREMSS coordinates multiple Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses each year to train practicing physicians and incoming residents as well as other licensed healthcare providers.

BREMSS offers several Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses each year: 2-day Provider courses, 1-day Refresher courses, and 1.5-day Instructor courses.

A Refresher course is for individuals that have a current ATLS card that is within six (6) months of expiring (you can renew up to 6 months prior to the expiration date or up to 6 months after the expiration date). If you are unsure of your expiration date, please contact us before registering for a course so we may direct you to the correct course.

ALABAMA EMS CHALLENGE

Alabama EMS Challenge is a free continuing education opportunity for EMS providers in the Greater Birmingham Area.

EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATOR COURSE

The goal for EVOC is to ensure, to the best of its ability, that appropriate ambulances are operated timely, adequately, and safely when transporting patients during their times of need. Emergency medical services have an obligation to serve the sick and injured while maintaining the safety of the public.

In addition to the approval of field based EVOC courses, BREMSS offers the EVOC Module A course in an elearning format and conducts EVOC Instructor training.

Advanced Burn Life Support

Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) programs provide knowledge for immediate care of the burn patient up to the first 24-hours post injury. ABLS programs also support emergency preparedness and mass casualty incidents focusing on triage, burn survivability, prioritizing transport of patients, and patient treatment.

BREMSS hosts the ABLS course in conjunction with the UAB Division of Acute Care Surgery.
