Education

BREMSS facilitates and provides quality education to EMS providers and agencies.

We are also one of the largest American Heart Association Training Centers in Alabama with over 800 BLS Instructors, 150 ACLS Instructors, and 120 PALS Instructors in EMS agencies, hospitals, clinics, K-12 school systems, post-secondary schools, and public/private enterprises.

Recently in efforts to better meet the needs of our instructors and their students, BREMSS has established an authorized training center for the American Safety and Health Institute.

BREMSS also coordinates multiple Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses each year to train practicing physicians and incoming residents.

The ADPH Office of EMS has authorized BREMSS to approve Continuing Medical Education within our region as well as facilitate and oversee others courses including:

  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Courses (EVOC) and Instructor Courses
  • Emergency Medical Responder Courses (EMR)
  • Emergency Medical Technician Courses (EMT)
  • Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Courses (AEMT)
